My Shot Scope Story
Name: Frank Fasano
Handicap: 12.5
Golf Club: West Hills Country Club, USA
Handicap when I started using Shot Scope: 12.5
My favourite feature is PinCollect. For game improvement I believe short game stats are of the utmost importance, so knowing my putting and approach data is accurate all the way to the hole is key.
I use Shot Scope to identify holes in my game where I need the most improvement, then I structure my practice sessions to help me improve in those areas that need the most attention.
Truthfully, my goal is always just to have more fun playing the game, and Shot Scope helps me do that by giving me a tool that allows me to look back on every round and relive some of my best shots.
My father first got me into golf at a young age, and I’m forever grateful for that. So, some of my favourite golf moments are those where I get to share a round with him – although he still beats me every time!

I don’t always have a lot of time to work on my golf game, that’s why I love the fact that Shot Scope’s statistics give me insights into the areas where I need the most improvement. Shot Scope allows me to maximise my practice and be a lot more efficient with my progress

Frank's putting statistics
Frank is a solid putter, these stats are what most mid-handicap golfers would dream of. The only thing on the high side is Frank’s 3-putt frequency. Nobody likes a 3 putt, so Frank we’d like to see this get to under 10% in 2019. Keep rolling it the way you do Frank. ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ comes to mind.
Frank's approaches statistics
This stat comes hand-in-hand with fairway success. Hit more fairways = hit more greens (majority of the time) and Frank’s stats prove this. He hits more than DOUBLE the number of greens from the fairway than he does from the rough. 34% success from the fairway with only 12% from the rough. Guess what that means Frank… see you on the fairways in 2019!
Frank's short game statistics
Frank uses a nice variety of clubs for his short game shots, roughly the same usage of each. His most successful club is his putter, as it averages only 8ft from the pin. A suggestion to Frank would be to try using a 8/9 iron for the occasional short game shot. This type of shot requires a technique that is the most similar to a putting stroke, and if Frank can play his putter well, you’d like to think he can do the same with an 8/9iron.
Frank's tee shots statistics
As we can see from his tee shot stats, Frank has a tendency to miss left of the fairway. If you have heard him on his Golficity podcasts you’ll often hear him talking about how he is trying to increase his fairway success %. In 2019 we’d like to see Frank achieve upward of 45% fairways hit, showing he has found a way to reduce the damage of that left ball.
Frank's clubs statistics
Frank has good distances stats with his clubs. The area that stands out is his 3 wood doesn’t cover the distance between driver and hybrid, Frank maybe doesn’t strike this as well as he could. We would like to see his 3 wood going around the 230 yard mark to cover that gap.
